The Significance of 108 – Why Is It So Important?

Picture
According to the Surya Siddhanta, an ancient Indian astronomical work, the sunlight moves at a speed of 2,202 yojanas in 0.5 nimisha. One yojana is nine miles. 2,202 yojanas amount to 19,818 miles. One nimisha is equal to 16/75 of a second. Half a nimisha amounts to 8/75 of a second, which is 0.106666 seconds.

A speed of 19,818 miles in 0.10666 seconds equals 185,793 miles per second. This is approximately in line with the modern calculations, according to which the speed of light is 186,282 miles per second.

The numbers in brief : -
  • There are 2202 yojanas in 0.5 nimisha.
  • 1 yojana = 9 miles
  • 1 nimisha = seconds
  • 2202 yojana in 0.5 nimisha = 2202 x 9 miles in 0.5 x (16/75) seconds
  • = 19,818 miles in 0.10666 seconds
  • = 185,793 miles/second

Modern science has arrived at this number with great difficulty and all kinds of instruments, while a few thousand years ago, they got this number by simple observation of how the human system and the solar system function together.

The distances between the Sun and the Earth, the distances between the Moon and the Earth, the way the planet rotates and the impact it has – all these things have been looked at with great care. The diameter of the Sun multiplied by 108 equals the distance between Sun and Earth, and the diameter of the Moon multiplied by 108 equals the distance between Earth and Moon. The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth.

That is why we have 108 beads in a mala.

The most important thing is the deep connection between the making of time and the making of the human body. The planet is approximately round and it has a slightly tilted orbit. As it travels, as it spins, it forms a circle.

Today we know it takes 25,920 years to complete this cycle. This tilt mainly happens because of the gravitational pull of the moon over the earth. And that many years are called one cycle of yugas. Each of these cycles has eight yugas.

There are 4 yugas: Kali, Dwapara, Treta and Krita yuga. Each of these occurs twice per 25920-year cycle.

Earth and man

Back to one cycle of axial procession – 25,920 divided by 60 (which is also the number of heart beats per minute if you are healthy) – comes to 432. Four hundred thirty two is a number that comes up in various cultures – the Norse culture, the ancient Jewish culture, the Egyptian culture, the Mesopotamian culture, and very much in the Indian culture here.

Why 432 ? If you are in good health and in good condition, your heart beats about 60 times per minute, which is 3600 per hour, and 3600 x 24 equals 86,400 heartbeats per day. If you divide 864 by 2, again you have 432.

Only if you are riding the time, you will live an extraordinary life, which is what a human being and the human brain are designed for.

If you are healthy, you take about 15 breaths per minute. If you have done lots of sadhana, it could be only 12.

15 breaths per minute means 900 breaths per hour and 21,600 per day. 216 multiplied by 2 becomes 432 again. If you take the circumference of the earth – there is something called a nautical mile which is the real mile in the sense that it has something to do with the way the planet is. The other units of measurement were created for ease of calculation.

We  know there are 360° in a circle. Likewise, there are 360° upon the planet, and each degree is divided into 60 minutes. One of these minutes accounts for one nautical mile. That means the circumference of the earth at the equator is 21,600 nautical miles – that is also how many breaths you take per day. That means the planet is spinning on time and you are doing well. If the planet was not spinning on time, it would be no good at all for us. If you are not in tune with it, it is also no good for you.

Time is not a concept that we invented – time is deep-rooted in the system, in the very way we are made. When we go into Mahabharat, there is so much talk about the yugas and how they function.

Let’s look at the impact of time in human life from a different context. This is not something that someone thought up – this is a phenomenal and profound science. Yoga has always been deeply involved with this. It is just that we don’t believe in propounding theories about it. By practice, we try to attune the body to the times and spaces of creation, because without being in tune with them, you do not get very far. If you are not riding the time, you will live a mediocre life – probably a suffering life. Only if you are riding the time, you will live an extraordinary life, which is what a human being and the human brain are designed for.

Colors and Their Role in our Life – Why sage wear different color robes ?

5/2/2015

Picture
How is color significant for human consciousness as such, or for any kind of spiritual process ? It is significant in the sense that the color that we reflect will naturally add to the aura that we carry. People on the ascetic path don’t want to wear anything because they don’t want to add anything new to themselves. They just want to work with what they have. They don’t want to take on anything more.

What is color, first of all ?

The color of any substance is not because of what it is, it is what it rejects or what it gives away or reflects. Something looks red not because it is red, but because it holds back everything that white light contains and reflects red. So red does not mean it is red. Red means it is not red! Whatever you give away, that will be your quality in the world also.

The meaning of the color RED

If we walk in the forest, it is all green but there will be one spot of red – somewhere one red flower blossoming – that draws our attention because in our perception, red is the most vibrant of all the colors. All other colors may be pretty and nice but red is vibrant.

Many things which are significant to us are red. Red is the color of our blood for example. In human consciousness, colors have a big impact upon how we feel, and red creates maximum vibrance. Anything exuberant means red.

Among the deities that we create, the feminine forms are the most exuberant. Linga Bhairavi’s color is red because she gives away red. Devi signifies that vibrance. Her energy is absolute vibrance and exuberance. Because of that, Devi is red – not because she is red, because she is not red !

The meaning of the color BLUE

Blue is the color of all-inclusiveness. We see in the existence, anything that is vast and beyond our perception generally tends to be blue, whether it is the ocean or the sky. Anything which is larger than our perception tends to be blue because blue is the basis of all-inclusiveness. It is based on this that so many gods in India are shown as blue-skinned. Shiva has a blue skin, Krishna has a blue skin, Rama has a blue skin. It is not that their skin was blue. They were referred to as blue gods because they had a blue aura.

There is another aspect to this. In terms of one’s evolution, there are various hues that one’s aura can take. If we make the Agna very important in our sadhana, then orange will be the dominant color. That is the color of renunciation and kriya. If someone has a pure white aura, that means this is a pure being. Such a person’s presence will be fantastic, but he will not be so action-oriented.

When someone attains to their highest but chooses to be active in the world, his aura will always be electric blue. Anyone who was dynamic was blue. It is this type of aura which allows us to function in the world in a way that other people think is superhuman.

The meaning of the color ORANGE

Why people who walk the spiritual path choose orange as their color, at least in India, is because orange suggests so many things. When a person is moving towards Agna, it can be very visibly noticed that the color of Agna is orange. It is organically and naturally so. If you go into certain meditations, you will clearly see that Agna is orange or saffron. The color is not actually saffron, it is ochre.

The Agna chakra is the chakra of knowing or enlightenment, and is known as the third eye.

There are 114 chakras in the body. Two of these do not ascribe to any color because they are not physical in nature. The rest of the 112 chakras ascribe to some color. Anything that is physical in the existence naturally reflects light. Once it reflects light, it will have color in our perception. People who are on the path where the whole process is about enlightenment and opening up that dimension of perception referred to as the third eye, will always seek ochre because they want to radiate that color.

If we have become transparent, if what is behind us is red, we turn red too. If what is behind us is blue, we turn blue too. Wherever we are, we become a part of that, but nothing sticks to us.

Normally, a person who switches to orange drops everything that was old – his name, his identity, his family, his looks, his everything – and shifts into a different life. That means he is making a new beginning, a new sun has risen in his life.

A certain realization has come where he is willing to shed everything and walk into another dimension of life or another possibility. It also suggests gnana and vision. Either a person has developed or he wants to develop a new vision, that’s why he is going into it. For both people it is good to wear orange.

Orange is also a symbolism. When the sun rises in the morning, it is orange. We wear this color to indicate that a new light has come into our life and a new rising has happened within us. A new sun is beginning to rise within us. Another aspect is, when the fruit matures, it becomes orange. Orange is a symbol of maturity. When a person has attained to a certain level of maturity or ripening, he uses this color.

The meaning of the color WHITE

White or aatvarang means the eighth color. There are seven colors; white is the eighth color. This eighth color or aatvarang means that dimension of life which is beyond. White is not really a color. When there is no color, only white is there. It is the absence of color that makes it white. At the same time, white is all-inclusive. The white light that we see contains all of the seven colors. We can refract those colors and separate all seven of them.

White has a good impact on us. Especially when we live in a tropical country, white is the best color to wear. It is comfortable weather-wise. Traditionally, a person who wears orange cuts himself off from family and social situations. The one who chooses white walks the spiritual path, but is still involved in the other aspects of life. Those who are on a path where they don’t want to gather anything will wear white. Their sadhana is mild, but they are on the spiritual path, but they are involved with various aspects of life, they don’t want to gather life around them. They want to be participating in life but they don’t want to gather anything, such people will choose to wear white.

The meaning of the color YELLOW

In the Buddhist tradition, monks, who graduated to what Budhha called arhats, wore ochre robes. The rest wore yellow robes because the process that Budhha gave to the initial stage of Buddhist monks was a very rudimentary process. He chose this process for them because it did not need any preparation. He wanted to cause a wave of awareness. That means he didn’t stay in any town for too long. He was continuously moving from village to village and town to town. There was no time to prepare people for any kind of practice, so he gave them a very rudimentary process. But still he was converting them into monks. He was fixing their life but not giving them enough preparatory steps, so he told them to wear the yellow robe because yellow is the color of the Muladhara chakra. The most basic chakra in the body is Muladhara. He wanted them to be stable.

Such a process is taught when we are charting out a spiritual path for a few lifetimes. That tradition still continues in the Buddhist way of life. They keep coming back and coming back to do more work because the process is of stabilization, not of realization. So he told them to wear yellow robes.

The meaning of the color BLACK

If we are in a certain space which is powerfully energized and you want to imbibe, black is good. Black does not give out anything, it absorbs everything. If we wear black and go to a good space, we will absorb that. But if we wear black and go to a bad space, you will absorb that.

So, not everyone is qualified to wear black. If we continuously remain in black clothing and expose ourselves to a variety of situations, we will notice that our energies will fluctuate and it sucks out all the emotion from us and gets our mind into very volatile, imbalanced states. It makes us into a silent suffering. We will suffer in such a way that we cannot even find expression to our suffering.

But if we wear black in a situation which is very vibrant and positive, we will absorb a tremendous amount of energy, which is good for us. Black should be worn only if we are ensured of the quality of the space.

Vairagya

We may have heard the word “vairagya“. “Raga,” means color. “Vai” means beyond. “Vairag,” means beyond color. If we have become transparent, if what is behind us is red, we turn red too. If what is behind us is blue, we turn blue too. If what is behind us is yellow, we turn yellow too. We are unprejudiced. Wherever we are, we become a part of that, but nothing sticks to us. Only if we are like this, only if we are in a state of Vairag, then we will dare to explore all dimensions of life when we live here.

Fundamentals of mantras – How to benefit from them

4/4/2015

Picture
Music is an arrangement of sounds to generate certain sweetness. Music is a fine arrangement, but still it is like the water flowing. A mantra is not that beautiful aesthetically but it is much more effective. After some time it will become so much a part of your system and it will set a certain ambience for you. Mantra is not consciousness but mantra sets the right kind of ambience. Sound will set the right kind of ambience within this physiological, psychological framework and also in the atmosphere. One can make use of this.

Fundamentally, there are 3 sounds in the existence. Any given sound can be created out of these three sounds. If you know something about a color television, there are only three color codes ( RGB – Red, Green & Blue). With these three color codes, any number of colors can be created by different color combinations.

Similarly, given these three sounds, any number of sounds can be created. You can see this with a simple experiment: without the use of the tongue, there are only three sounds you can utter : -
  • “aaa”,
  • “ouuu” &
  •  “mmm”.
Even if you cut off your tongue, you can still utter these three sounds. For any other sound, you need the use of the tongue. You are using the tongue only to mix these three sounds in many ways to produce all the other sounds. There are so many millions of sounds you can create with your mouth, but a person who is mute can only say “aaa”, “ouuu”, and “mmm”. He cannot say anything else because he is not able to use his tongue.

If you utter these three sounds together, what do you get ? AUM.

AUM is not some religion’s trademark. It is the fundamental sound in the existence. It is said that Shiva can create a whole new existence just by uttering three AUMs. It is not that Shiva is sitting somewhere and uttering AUMs. That is not the point. What is being said is that everything is just a vibration.

Mantras are Sanskrit-invocations of the Supreme Being. Reinforced and propelled by Japa meditation, they pass from the verbal level through the mental and telepathic states, and on to pure thought energy. Of all languages, Sanskrit most closely approaches telepathic language because of its affinity to the fifty primeval sounds. It is the most direct way to approach the transcendental state.

Mantras cannot be concocted or tailor-made for the individual, despite some current claims. They have always existed in a latent state as sound energies. Just as gravity was discovered but not invented by Newton, Mantras were revealed to the ancient masters. They have been codified in the scriptures and handed down from guru to disciple. Although it is customary for the guru when giving initiation to accept voluntary offerings of fruit, flowers or money, the selling of Mantras is strictly against all spiritual rules.

Neither Mantra, deity nor guru, once chosen, should be changed. There are many paths up the mountain. Perseverance on one alone will bring the aspirant to the top faster than if he were to spread his energies in exploring all the alternative paths.

Mantra means a sound, a certain utterance or a syllable. Today, modern science sees the whole existence as reverberations of energy, different levels of vibrations. Where there is a vibration, there is bound to be a sound. So, that means, the whole existence is a kind of sound, or a complex amalgamation of sounds – the whole existence is an amalgamation of multiple mantras. Of these, a few mantras or a few sounds have been identified, which could be like keys. If you use them in a certain way, they become a key to open up a different dimension of life and experience within you.

So a mantra is not something that you utter. It is something that you strive to become because unless you become the key, existence will not open up for you. Becoming the mantra means you are becoming the key. Only if you are the key can you open the lock. Otherwise someone else has to open it for you and you have to listen to him. There are different types of mantras. Every mantra activates a particular kind of energy in a different part of the body.

Karmic Theory - Effects on our Life & Astrological Remedies

2/4/2015

Picture
People suffer from many things : Some people suffer from ill health, some people suffer from poverty, some people suffer from personal problems and some people suffer from professional problems. We cannot find any person on this earth without suffering in one form or the other.

If we go into retrospection and spend some time, we can understand that we never committed any mistakes but still we are put to suffering. Why? To answer this question, we should go back to our previous lives.

We did a lot of actions ( karmas ) in our previous births whose fruits are now enjoyed by us. The rule is simple: if we did wrong deeds, then we would get bitter fruits. Similarly, if we did right things, then we are ought to get sweet fruits. This is the karma theory in its simplest form.

Then, how can we escape from our past karmas? One solution is: let us experience the fruits of our past karmas and let us not do any further karma. When we do not generate any new actions, and go on experiencing the old karmas, then one day our karmas completely exhaust. Then the cover of karma which so far wrapped our soul will be removed and our soul shines crystal clear. This is the stage when we realize our real inner soul which is nothing but the supreme soul. This method is very difficult for us because we seldom live without doing karmas. But this is generally adopted by the saints who renounce the world.

The second solution is neutralizing the effects of karma by doing karma again. For example, a person who is suffering from a disease can get rid off the disease by realizing that he sold fake medicines in his past life and dedicating himself to serve the patients suffering from diseases. Serving the patients can be in any way. He should sympathize with them whole-heartedly and render some help for them like distributing the medicines with his money. This will enable him to come out of his illness. This is the ‘remedy’ for curing the disease of a person. Please remember that the remedies will work only if we realize that our present problems are due to our past actions.

Where Astrology stands in this  ?

The duty of planets in Astrology is to carry the fruits of our past actions to us. Thus planets do not cause any bad or good events. They simply act as mirrors in reflecting our own deeds. The horoscope of a person tells clearly which planets are reflecting health problem, professional problem or personal problem. So, an Astrologer can find out the planet and prescribe the appropriate remedy to pacify that planet. Here, we are not actually pacifying the planets. We are trying to neutralize the effects of our past bad deeds which we are going to get via that planet.

The following are various types of remedies, useful to a native to escape from his past karma :-

Mantras

Mantras are sounds which create positive energy. They are the most powerful remedy for any problem. Anything can be done using mantras. When an Astrologer finds out that a particular planet is the cause for the problems of a person, he can prescribe an appropriate mantra for the deity of that planet. For example, when Saturn is in a bad position causing ill health to a person, then the Astrologer prescribes Mrityunjaya mantra.

Yantras

Yantras are sacred symbols which are written on a copper plate. They are either worn on the body or installed in a house. For example, when a resident is facing problems due to bad Vaastu in his house, an Astrologer can ask him to install a Mastya yantra.

Tantras

Tantras are specialized actions which pacify the planets. Tantras are generally connected to mantras. For example, if a woman has Mars problem ( मांगलिक दोष ) due to which there is possibility of death of her husband, then her marriage is conducted first with a peepul tree in a tantric way. Then another marriage celebration is done with the actual bridegroom. In this way, the bridegroom becomes her second husband and he will be long lived.

Offering donations

When a planet is not good, then that planet’s related articles should be donated.

Herbal treatment

Certain herbs and plants represent certain planets. When a planet is in good position in the horoscope but exerting bad influence on the person, then corresponding herb should be consumed by the person to make the planet strong. For example, if Moon is not good then the native will suffer from digestive diseases. To cure this, the native should consume the herbs like lettuce, cabbages, turnips, cucumber, water melon, etc.

Gems

Each gem absorbs only one type of energy related to a particular planet. So, by wearing a gem, we are increasing energy of that planet. For example, in a horoscope if Jupiter is found in a good position, then we should wear a Yellow Sapphire in a gold ring to the right hand’s index finger. In this way, Jupiter’s energy is increased thus it causes maximum benefit to the native.

Color therapy

Each color represents a particular planet. Since Sun is the ruler of all planets, Sun’s rays contain all colors. Research shows that we can cure more than 100 diseases by using Sun rays. Colored rays are specific to planets. For example, if planet Mars is weak, that person will not have confidence and positive outlook on life. To combat this, we can give him Red color therapy where he is exposed to Red colored rays daily.

Magneto therapy

Human body contains a lot of magnetic material and responsive to magnets. In case of a disease, we can use magnets to balance the electromagnetic energy of the human body, thus keeping away from the disease.

Is Astrology really helpful or it's the Karma which helps out ??

9/18/2014

Picture
Astrology is a passion turned profession for me, I have been around as an amateur since two decades. I believe in the theory of karma or effort .

Seek astrological guidance, but don't be totally dependent on it !!

The astrologer has many limitations. No astrologer has the final say in any matter. Plan intelligently, remembering the astrologer's advice. Any pariharas (remedies) suggested by the astrologer can be adopted as long as they are spiritually oriented and do not involve unnecessary expenditure. Such remedies ( as per Parasara the father of Indian astrology ) are prayers and chanting of Mantras. Other remedies, which involve huge costs are not reliable and are mostly suggested by dishonest astrologers.

Accept your Prarabdha and do your duties cheerfully. Know that you cannot escape your Prarabdha. Even Yogic can help you only to postpone it, not avert it! But there is one area where you have total freedom. That is your current karma (Kriyaman).

You can determine the course of action. You can bring in an anti-current of thoughts, a current of noble, spiritual thoughts, thoughts guided by Dharma. It is never too late to change the course of action. In the Kriyaman area, do good deeds. Let Dharma guide you.

Some times there may be a conflict between free will (Kriyaman) and destiny (Prarabdha). However powerful Prarabdha is, DO NOT DESPAIR. Do your duties cheerfully without being excessively attached to the fruits of your actions. Surrender yourself to God and do your duties with a Nimitta Bhava. Great Yogic like Bhisma and Vasishta have placed Purushartha or exertion (free will) above destiny. Do not underestimate the role of Kriyaman Karma, your Free Will to change the course of action.

Advanced people do not need astrology. They accept Prarabdha as God's will while the ignorant person develops pathological dependence on astrology, starts despairing, lapses into inaction or makes half-hearted attempts.

It is perhaps for this reason that reformist thinkers like Swami Vivekananda and Swami Dayananda Saraswati were opposed to astrology. But saints like Sri Ramakrishna who was Swami Vivekananda's guru, spoke positively about astrology, because they had the attitude of a bhakta (devotee) and see all this as a 'play of the divine'. It all depends on how we take it. The devotee (bhakta) sees only Prarabdha. The vedantin (gyani) sees only Purushartha. Both are correct, because these are two sides of the same coin. The bhaktha (devotee) feels it is all Prarabdha only. Yet there is no fatalism in this. Prarabdha is only Purushartha (efforts born of free will) of previous births.

Purushartha combined with Prarabdha brings effects. A man who is sick has to take the medicine (Purushartha) and leave the result to Prarabdha. Through Purushartha, Markandeya conquered death. Vasishta advocates Purushartha to Sri Rama throughout the Yoga Vasishta. We are neither totally bound by destiny nor are we totally free. We have limited freedom like a cow that has been tied to a post in a field with a rope. It can move freely, but only within the limits of the field. We have limited freedom depending upon how much we can stretch our Karma.

The Astrology of Twins ~ How can two birth charts be so different ?

3/16/2014

Picture
Why are twins sometimes so different? It's a common question in Astrology. We would expect two people born at almost the same time, with similar genetics and raised in the same environment to be very similar. Right ?

Well, most of the time they are. But it's the exceptions that are used to challenge Astrology. Individuals born on the same day and year will have many astrological factors in common. Still, there are fast-moving patterns that can make a difference in just a matter of minutes.

The most common is the Ascendant, also known as the Lagna Rashi / Rising Sign. This is the point rising in the east at the moment of birth, one that plays a significant role in shaping the way a person looks and presents herself to the world.

This rapidly moving point, which is the cusp or border of the 1st house, is based on the Earth's rotation on its axis, so that each of the 12 zodiac signs ( Rashi ) will rise during some two-hour period of the day. Twins born several minutes apart may have different Rising Signs. For example, I know someone who has twin clients, one of whom was a Taurus Rising with the patient steadiness of this Earth sign; the other, born about a quarter hour later, reflected the chatty bounciness of her airy Gemini Rising.

There are many known cases of twins separated at birth who have parallel experiences in life, including the same dates for events like marriage and the births of their children.

There are also individuals born on the same day and year who are very different from each other; Margaret Thatcher ( RIP ) and Lenny Bruce, Sylvester Stallone and George W. Bush, are famous examples. They were not born at the same time or place, so could be significantly different astrologically.

Natural instinct also plays a part  :-

There is yet another factor that explains why twins with essentially the same Astrology birth charts can appear to be so different. The chart is an expression of raw materials, traits or qualities that can be expressed in a variety of ways. One person with assertive Mars in passionate Scorpio can use this intensity as a healer while another might apply it with avarice or cruelty. The chart doesn't say who one must be; it describes the energies with which one has to work.

Twins have a need to differentiate themselves, to become true individuals. The desire to be distinct is common to all of us, but may be an especially compelling drive for a twin. There is a natural instinct to differentiate oneself that unconsciously motivates one twin to choose a certain type of expression of a planet in the chart, while his or her sibling chooses another. They are working with the same ingredients but mixing them in unique ways.

Twins, even those who are very similar and remain close throughout life, are separate people who will live out their birth charts in individual ways.

Magnetic Energy effect ~ Right Direction ~ While Sleeping ~ Vaastu Tip

8/8/2013

Picture
Another aspect of the scientific achievements of the Hindu Vaastu System is reflected in the position one is supposed to sleep.

It is normally recommended for people to sleep with their heads to the south. The human body is said to have the ability to acquire the property of magnetism because there is a large percentage of iron in the blood circulating all over our body. It is also known that the earth is a huge magnet with its poles having attractive and repulse powers as is evident by the pointing of a compass needle. The feet for the most part of the day are in contact with this huge magnet. The South polarity is said to be induced in the feet and consequently North polarity, in the head. This arrangement of poles in the human body is natural to it and therefore conducive to health.

When lying down with your head to the South, the magnetic poles of your head and feet will attract the South and North Poles of the earth respectively thereby preserving the polarity of the body natural.

It is precisely for this reason too that the ancients said that the body enjoys perfect health and longevity is strengthened by sleeping with the head to the South. By sleeping to the north this natural polarity is disturbed or diminished and the body becomes vulnerable to disease.

Rishi Markandeya who was able to conquer death is said to have stated that a person acquires strength and longevity by placing his head southwards and bring upon himself disease and death by lying down with his head placed to the North.

Hospitals, nursing homes, mental asylums etc. can expect to have faster recovery of their patients if they insist that they lie with their heads to the South.

Diabetes in Astrology

6/23/2013

Picture

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease relating to the function of pancreas characterized by deficiency of insulin, consequent disability to the use of carbohydrates, excess sugar in blood and urine, thirst, hunger, frequent urination, emaciation of the body and imperfect combustion of fats, resulting in acidosis. In its worst from it can cause coma leading to moribund condition and ultimate death. It affects eye-sight and vital organs, causing neuropathy and in general complicates any other disease. Healing of wounds is delayed and may result in the amputation of the wounded parts of the body.

All these facts have to be taken into account in the astro-analysis of diabetes. There is huge mass of astrological literature giving the combinations for diseases. To delineate the nature of this abominable disease, some basic facts have to be ascertained.

Pancreas is situated above the navel and below the heart. Thus we can conclude that it is represented by the 5th house.

The second drekkana of the sixth house which indicates the belly of the body has also to be reckoned with.

The seventh house which indicates the waist and urinary diseases has also a role. The eighth house, particularly second drekkana which is symmetric to the second drekkana of 6th has to be included. Astrological works give combinations relating to 6th and 8th houses and they have to be carefully utilized. The sixth and seventh houses of Kalapurusha namely Virgo and Libra, Leo which indicates belly and digestive problems, and Scorpio indicating the genital organs have indisputably a role. When these houses or ras'is are occupied by or aspected by malefic or placed between malefic, problems relating to urine and connected organs are, in general, indicated.

Jupiter indicates sweetness and an ill-disposed Jupiter denies the opportunity to taste ‘sweets’. Thus an unfavorable Jupiter indirectly indicates diabetes. A weak Jupiter in 6th, 8th or 12th or Jupiter in combustion is indicative of diabetes. Thirst, hunger etc. are the symptoms of diabetes. Consequently, the Moon has an important role. Saturn which indicates urine, excreta and other filthy materials has also a significant role.

To sum up : If the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th or the ras'is Leo, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio are afflicted, diabetes or urinary diseases are suggested. Similarly, if the planets Venus, the Moon, Jupiter are ill disposed, one can infer urinary disease or diabetes. The urinary diseases caused by Saturn, bad digestion, emaciation of the body etc. are suggestive of diabetes.

Several Combinations : -

  • When the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, and Venus are in the 5th diabetes is indicated. Even if one, two, three of these planets occupy the 5th, diabetes is indicated. When these planets are associated with evil planets results will be pronounced. It is found from observation that Venus in the 5th aspected by Saturn causes diabetes.
  • When the Sun or Mars and Saturn are in Lagna diabetes is indicated. If all the three are in Lagna results will be strong. Even if Mars and Saturn are in Lagna, effects will be felt.
  • If Venus is in the 8th aspected by malefic phlegmatic diseases, diabetes etc are indicated. It may cause even death. If Venus is in a watery sign and has Varga in a watery sign the results will be pronounced, more so when Venus is weak.
  • If Saturn and Mars are conjoined or have mutual aspect, diabetes is caused.
  • If Mercury is in Sagittarius or Pisces with the aspect of the Sun, diabetes is indicated. Since this is not possible, aspect should be treated as conjunction. Sun- Mercury conjunction in Sagittarius or Pisces is suggestive of this.
  • If the Moon is in Leo which indicates thirst, hunger etc chances for diabetes are strong.
  • If a weak Moon is in Leo, thirst, hunger and problems of digestion are indicated, more so when it is an indicator of disease. When the Moon gets Vargas in watery signs, diabetes is likely.
  • If a watery planet is in the 7th together with the lord of the 7th, urinary diseases are indicated. The Moon and Venus are watery planets. When the planets are in watery signs and get Vargas in watery signs, the results will manifest well.
  • If the lord of 6th is in the 3rd diseases near the navel are indicated. The place being navel, urinary diseases related to diabetes are also likely.
  • If the Sun, the Moon and Venus are in the 5th, diabetes is likely. Watery Vargas aggravate this.
  • Rahu in the 7th causes diseases of the waist. This can indicate diseases in the inner part and hence diabetes.
  • A malefic in the 5th causes problems. Since the 5th represents pancreas, diabetes is likely. Watery Vargas aggravates this.
  • If the lord of the 7th is in a malefic’s house and is aspected by a malefic, diabetes is likely. This is found to be true from observations.
  • If the Lagna is aspected by Saturn and the weak lord of the 8th has the aspect of a malefic, problems due to indigestion are likely.

Feng Shui Tips

Picture

 1) There should be no shoes or slippers lying around outside the main door of your house. Remove it if you can. Allow that space at the main door to be free and clear. The chi (energy) rides with the wind and will collect all the smell of those shoes and slippers into your house causing sickness. Ch’i then travels about in your house looking for water to stay but if there are no water fountains or fish tanks, then the Ch’i will be dispersed by wind.

2) There should be no television sets in your bedrooms: If you cannot get rid of that habit then after watching the television cover it with a plastic table cloth. Remember it has to be plastic and not simply cloth.

3) There should be no mirrors opposite your bed or at the side of your bed. Mirrors opposite the bed can attract a third party to the relationship. Therefore, do not place mirrors anywhere you like and especially in your bedroom.

4) Place an indoor water fountain in your home, position in a favorable area to attract whatever you want in your life.

5) If you already have a fish tank in your house, be careful. A fish tank placed correctly can bring about greater fortune, as you will tap on the "Divine Water Dragon's Den". But if you tap wrongly, it can cause you to have lawsuits, bankruptcy, work pressure, troubles and problems. If you noticed any of these after placing the fish tank for approximately four months, shift your fish tank to another location.

6) In your kitchen, ensure that opposite your stove there is no refrigerator, washing machine, washbasin and toilet. The fire and water crash causing family members to have disagreements.

7) Try not to allow children to sleep on mattresses on the floor. Yes, this allows young children not to fall off beds but it also causes young children to fall sick frequently. The reason is: chi is not able to flow underneath the bed. Ideally, chi should circulate around the mattress where our children sleep to allow them to be healthy.
