Feng Shui

Picture
The history of Feng Shui covers 3,500+ year before the invention of the magnetic compass. Feng Shui literally means ‘wind and water’. It aims to bring about harmony in nature, since harmony in nature translates to ‘harmony in life’.
  • Feng means the wind that carries the Chi, the invisible energy, the all-pervading life force that surrounds us.
  • Shui is the water that meanders underneath the earth transporting Chi. Chi should flow effortlessly around physical structures to bring balance and harmony.

Feng Shui is the art of placing buildings and objects so that the Chi is accentuated by the precise positioning of your house, furniture, decorations and other objects which then will bring positive vibrations and not negative ones that create discord and chaos. Feng Shui is also based on the interaction of Yin and Yang, the female and male forces along with Chinese astrology and the five elements, their colors and shapes.

Many Eastern cultures have for centuries used the art and science of Feng Shui in the planning of houses. Feng Shui has now become popular all over the world, because it offers simple remedies to correct the flaws in existing buildings and spaces. Anyone who learns the basic principles of Feng Shui can apply it to their spaces and surroundings to create a positive and harmonious vibration which then enhance their well-being and improve their lives.

When a building is raised on the Earth, it affects the natural flow of energies and can create an imbalance in the surroundings. The underlying principle of Feng Shui is to live in harmony with your environment so that the energy surrounding you works for you rather than against you.

It can create a healthy, happy and prosperous atmosphere to a building. The detection of Geopathic Stress and sick building syndrome in the home can minimize any potential illnesses.

Many years ago, the Chinese used Feng Shui as a planning tool to understand life’s cyclical changes. It allowed them to stay in control of what was going on. Today, in the same way, Feng Shui can help you plan so that you can take advantage of all the good energy/ influences and avoid any upcoming negative energy/ influences for the coming year. The blueprint of each premise can therefore bring opportunity, abundance, happiness and harmony when tapped into correctly. It positions the individual into a better harmony with themselves, the environment, elements of nature and essentially enhances the individual’s destiny and opportunity prospects.

Feng Shui and Vaastu Shastra :-

  • Feng Shui aims at restoring the natural balance in a person and in his surroundings and creates positive energy around his home. So, in that sense, Feng Shui is very similar to the Indian building science, “Vaastu Shastra” as they have the same goal – to create balance and a positive environment.

  • The study of both Feng Shui and Vaastu Shastra deals with human interest and public good. The purpose of both the sciences is the same, the basic difference lies in their working.

  • Vastu Shastra deals with the infrastructure of your place, particularly the made up graphics of your home while Feng Shui works through color schemes, bright and dark, sunshine, ventilation and other factors. Feng Shui is more or less based on signs. The science of signs is the key factor for making our thoughts positive, the positivity in our thoughts leads to actions and intern positive results.

  • Like Vaastu belongs to India, Feng Shui to China, Pyramids is a similar science that belongs to Egypt. This is a practice to increase a positive energy in a specific corner of your place through pyramids. It is symbolic to the pyramids in Egypt, one of the seven wonders of the world where in mummies are safe and secured since more than 15000 years and thus it is said to be a safe and positive space for them. Thus pyramid as a symbol is used to increase positivity because of this reason.

Feng Shui advantage is sometimes its work to minimize the Vaastu fault. It's aim is human welfare. It is talk about two elements air and water; two types of energy negative and positive energy. Laughing Budha, Wind chime, coins etc are the gadgets of Feng Shui. For wealthy life a person will make fountain in North direction. If it is not possible because of any reason than now a days artificial fountains are available in market. Use those fountains in your home. Apart from this you can also use fish aquarium, running water picture, golden temple picture, and tortoise. Looking mirror is a Feng Shui gadget. It is a saying that because of wrong placement of mirror Mahabharat happened.

Feng Shui, a mystical belief or a natural science  ?

Feng Shui is a body of knowledge that has developed and grown for thousands of years. Originally, it was the exclusive knowledge of the Court Meteorologists of Imperial China, until, over time, it was leaked to help the common people, and is now used by enlightened people all over the world. Feng Shui is not based on any religion, mysticism or superstition. It is a mathematical science.

Feng Shui is based on four aspects :-
  • Building
  • Environment
  • People
  • Time
Feng Shui can be shown to be both a science and an art. The 'science' is the detailed analysis of the four aspects using mathematical calculations. The 'art' is the experience of how to best implement the remedies. Today, unfortunately, there is much hearsay, superstition and nonsense about Feng Shui, yet Feng Shui makes complete sense and is based on logic and scientific principles.
